About Samson (On Trial 29/3/13)
Samson is a 12 month old dachshund x. He is a happy and playful puppy with lots of energy. He loves to go for walks and runs and loves to be around people. He is well behaved on a lead and doesn't react to other dogs barking. He has been friendly with all of the dogs he's met so far.
Samson loves to play fetch with anything he can get his mouth around. He was really good with a little girl at the park however in the back yard he can get a bit jumpy so any children in the family should be older than around 8 years old so that they are old enough to understand to be gentle with a dog.
Samson knows basic commands like sit and come. He will need some work on housetraining in his forever home. We always recommend dog training classes to teach your new family member some basic skills and bond with you. And of course all dogs need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Samson can entertain himself through the day by exploring the back yard and playing with chew toys. When people come home in the afternoon he should be allowed inside with the family. He doesn't like to be left outside in the dark so he must be allowed to come in at dusk and sleep inside.
More than anything else, Samson loves to be close to people giving him cuddles and belly rubs. He is a gorgeous dog and would fit in very easily to an active, loving home.
For more information or to meet Samson please phone foster carer Michelle on 02-4951-1896 or 0417-432-012 or email mishl33@hotmail.com . Samson is in foster care in Merewether, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Samson's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
