About Maggie *On Trial in Her New Home*
*MAGGIE IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HER NEW HOME* Hi there my name is Maggie and I am a Whippet! Oh, no I'm not, sorry - *apparently I am a GREYHOUND but I think I’m a Whippet! My foster parents laugh as I am the only Greyhound they have ever met who loves playing ball (and I bring it back!) and I love running, and sleeping on the couch, and running, and trying to crawl onto laps, and running, and pushing people's hand from behind so I get a pat! I am also a good guard dog and let people know when a strange car pulls up. Then I wag my wonky tail madly as there is a new person to pat me!!
I had a sad start to life as my poor tail was broken when my mum popped me out so I look a bit funny as it is still crooked. And when I lay on my back with my legs in the air it looks like I am snarling but I am really smiling! And then I nearly had a one way trip to the vet as I wasn't keen to chase those white fluffy things around a dusty track.
I am a good girl inside the house and don't have any accidents. I love a walk on my lead, but am just as happy to have a quick "zoomie" around the yard, (and I love other dogs as my foster family has 7 of us!) Don't think I like cats or chooks much as the silly things they want to be chased so I just have to chase them! I haven't met many little people yet, but they look like fun to play with!
Because of my childhood I am a bit nervy until I get to know you ... I will just quietly come up to you and rest my head on your knee, so after a few pats I will be your best friend for life! I know I am a very lucky girl to have so many chances, now I just need a person or family to love me furever; will it be you???
If lovely Miss Maggie sounds like the kind of dog you've always wanted to share your home with then please download and complete a SARG Dog Application form by following this link or by copying and pasting it into your browser: http://www.sarg.net.au/adoptapet.html
* Due to legislation, Maggie must always be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle when outside of a completely fenced area, but that certainly won't detract from her prettiness, we've even seen pink girlie muzzles online! And she certainly doesn't need to wear a muzzle (or a lead!) when zooming around her own yard!
Medical notes
Maggie is desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated and wormed.
Heartworm test = negative (commenced Heartgard).
Weight: 23.7kgs. DOB: 2/05/11. \
Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed,
references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
