About Bertie *On Trial in His New Home*
*BERTIE IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME* Meet cutie-pup Bertie who has loads of personality and is full of puppy love, he’s looking for a caring forever home after misplacing his old one; will it be with you???
Recently rescued from Swan Hill Council’s pound little Bertie is enjoying being spoilt in foster care where he is being shown the ropes by his carers’ 2 year old Blue Heeler x Pointer and Bertie is learning fast having already mastered “sit” as well as going great guns with his toilet training; so far he’s only had one accident inside!
From his carer: Bertie is adorable, he loves to cuddle up in my bed with me at night, (my partner is not impressed, ha!) and he has the cutest yawn which kind of sounds like a creaking door opening. He sleeps all through the night, either in bed with me or in his basket which he goes to without command. \ He has been out for a few walks on his lead and is getting used to it, and he’s sitting at road sides too. He loves to watch TV and sits on my knee for cuddles and kisses and when he sees himself in the mirror he gets confused and starts barking at himself, which is amusing to watch! He is learning a lot from my own dog Sarbi and they get along really well. Bertie loves chicken and lamb, though when I feed him his puppy Advance dry food he turns his nose up at it and moves to Sarbi’s bowl to eat “big boy” food, he even stood in Sarbi’s bowl the other morning to get the scraps, lucky Sarbi’s very patient with him!
As Bertie is only a young puppy he will require ongoing obedience training and socialisation with other dogs so he grows up to have lovely manners. He is quite low-maintenance, only requiring the occasional brush and bath to keep his coat in tip-top condition. Daily walks or runs around the back yard, secure fencing, chicken necks to chew on, toys to play with and a lap to snuggle on will make Bertie very happy indeed!
Adorable Bertie would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a doggie companion to learn from or on his own so long as he won’t be left alone for long periods of time especially while he’s a puppy.

Adoption details
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed,
references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
