About Snowy (On Trial 10/2/13)
Snowy, 1 year old, male, Chihuahua x. He loves cuddles, sits for a treat, and is a little ray of sunshine. He is very friendly and curious with other dogs and especially loves to play with our dachshund. He enjoys outings to the beach, is good in the car, and walks nicely on the leash.
He is lovely with children of all ages and is very gentle with them. You can easily carry him on your hip as he is super light. He likes licking you as he loves everybody a lot.
Snowy likes to be where ever you are. He likes to spend a little time outside but he is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. He sleeps next to my bed in a little dog cave bed with a snugly little blanket inside. He needs further toilet training as he is not perfect yet, so you just need to make sure to let him out every few hours and especially after his meals.
Snowy loves his dry dog food, cooked human food each night, and bones etc but don’t give him rice as it makes him cough. After eating he likes to bury the rest of the food, very cute.
He is fine and patient when I give him a bath. He doesn’t like combing but he lets me do it, no problem. He prefers nice, gentle brushing. He copies barking from our dog when a visitor comes, but otherwise he is very silent.
Snowy is a beautiful, affectionate young dog just waiting for someone to make him their own and he will be a loving and loyal best friend in return.
For more information or to meet Snowy please phone foster carer Michaela on 0466 995 925. Snowy is in foster care in Charlestown, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Snowy's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
