About Deefer (On Trial 8/3/13)
Hi my Name is Deefer! I am a happy-go-lucky, 6 month old, male, Staffy X Bull Arab and I'm on the look out for my loving forever home. I'm a friendly guy who gets along with both the pups my age/size and the small, older dogs I've been living with. I love to play and run about with dogs and people. My other favourite things include neck scratches, bones and pig ears.
I am energetic but once I've had my fun I'm very laid back and relaxed. I am a good alarm dog because I will bark to warn you of cars or people approaching the house. But I have shown no nastiness towards any person.
I am a big puppy and since coming to my carers home I have been taught to sit for attention instead of jumping. Teaching me is easy as I am very food motivated and eager to please. I know sit, down, stay, come, walk on the lead and play dead! With more training I'm sure I will become a perfectly behaved dog.
I will need a home with a decent sized yard and a family that loves walks and playtime as much as I do. If you're searching for a medium to large, friendly and smart young dog to join your family I could be your guy!
For more information or to meet Deefer please phone foster carer Karla on 0467 091 478. Deefer is in foster care in Hunter Valley, near Singleton, NSW (northwest of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Deefer's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
