About Maxine (On Trial 4/5/13)
Maxine was recently left all alone in the world when her elderly owner passed away. We believe she has the unusual breeding of a whippet crossed with a Jack Russell, and she’s around 6 years old. She’s very sweet and devoted, loves to be cuddled and to snuggle up on the couch with you, or on your bed if you’ll let her. She is only a small dog, but with long legs, and has an easy-care coat. She loves to go for walks and is quite easy to lead, and travels well in the car.
Maxine is living with a number of other dogs at her foster carer’s house, and generally mixes well, but she does get a little jealous from time to time. Her behaviour is not troublesome, but she would probably be happiest in a home where she was the only dog, or maybe with one other. She would be an ideal companion for an elderly person or couple.
For more information or to meet Maxine please phone foster carer Lynda on 02 4987 1213 or email dogshouse@TPG.com.au . Maxine is in foster care near Raymond Terrace, NSW (north of Newcastle) Maxine is not for adoption interstate.
Maxine's $400 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
