About Bruce (On Trial 23/4/13)
Say hello to Bruce, 18 month old Kelpie x. Bruce is such an unusual name for a dog and we think he was named Bruce because he really is a star! He could easily follow in the footsteps of Bruce Willis, Bruce Springsteen or Bruce Lee but with those beautiful big ears, it has got to be Bruce Wayne.
You see, Bruce is fast, smart and so good looking! This intelligent dog loves to work things out, give him a puzzle and he will have it solved in no time! Very agile, he loves to run and play with other dogs, especially other female dogs of his size. He very rarely barks and is happiest when he is doing things with his family.

Because he is such an intelligent dog, he will need to be an inside dog, be included in the family and will require two good walks each day. Ideally, it would be great if he went to a home with a few acres but this is not necessary as long as he is stimulated and exercised. \
Bruce is a little shy when you first meet him but really warms up to you quickly. He is very loyal and stays close by even when on an off leash-walk. \ He loves car rides and going to different places. He also loves to play, so would be great with a family with children over 7 years of age.
Bruce is house-trained and will go outside to go to the toilet. He is highly trainable and already knows sit, stay, come and has just learnt how to unpack his Kong in record time! His new family would need to use positive reinforcement techniques only and be prepared to learn more about working dogs and their needs.
Come and meet this truly amazing dog! For more information about fostering or adopting Bruce, please contact Mat on 0421669884 and or email matnchlo@bigpond.com . Bruce is in foster care in Newcastle NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Bruce's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
