About Shelley (adopted May 2013)
Shelley is a 1 year old kelpie x German Shepherd looking for a family who can provide a little bit of love, and a lot of pats. She is only young but is very loving, affectionate and excitable. She loves running around with her bigger foster brother and chasing after her teddy bear (which she usually brings back). She is absolutely gorgeous, and gets along very well with other dogs. She is fully housetrained and responds well to most commands, when she feels like it, but is learning to come back when called at the park. Shelley’s favourite things to do are sit and get her tummy rubbed, and explore the house and backyard.
When she is not playing, she loves nothing more than lazing around in front of the TV with her foster carers. She is housetrained. She is learning to cope with being on her own at home and still gets very excited when people come home, but doesn’t seem to bark much. Shelley is used to sleeping outside but she needs good shelter such as a cosy kennel, undercover. She has some basic obedience training (sit, come, stay).
Shelley would be best suited for adoption by a young family, as she gets along very well with kids and has a fair bit of energy (being a puppy still), but anyone willing to devote a bit of love and time will make Shelley very happy.
For more information or to meet Shelley please phone Sue 02-4954-2234. Shelley is in foster care in Lake Macquarie, NSW, near Newcastle and is available for adoption interstate. \
Shelley's $400 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
