Norm *On Trial in HIs New Home*

*NORM IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME* “Gidday ... the name's Norm, nice to meet you!”

“Some of you might remember an ad on tv a few years ago about a bloke with the same name as me who had to make an effort to get up off the couch and go out and do some exercise. Well - I have decided to do things the opposite way to that chap. The first 4 or so years of my life I was the fittest thing you will ever see - the vet in Mildura was amazed at what a big healthy bloke I was! But now ... just point me towards a couch and I will lie there and relax and perhaps watch some telly. I am quite happy to venture out if YOU want to go for one of those walk things. And I am quite partial to a pat and a cuddle if you feel like it. And I don't mind a bit of tucker in the evenings. And I am perfectly happy to be by myself, or have other dogs around - as long as they don't hog the couch!

Apparently I am a big dog for a Greyhound (40 kgs of muscle!) but I think they made a mistake coz I am really quite a sook and just love lazing around and keeping you entertained. My foster mum thinks it's funny coz I love the elephant toy (it's my friend) and I sometimes sleep with it under my paw (well, I wasn't ever really allowed to be a puppy so I am making up for lost time). I'm pretty low maintenance really, and a bit of a clown. Oh, and I got told to tell you that I don't jump fences, and I don't bark much unless I get excited, and I go outside when I need to “do my business”. Then I go straight back to the couch! (The SARG people are also my friends, as they saved me from a one-way trip to the vet when I didn't make my owner any money chasing those fluffy things - so I know I am a very lucky Norm!).

So, hopefully I get to meet a new couch soon - oh, and a new person to love me and tell me I am very handsome.”

“Life Be In It” and adopt a Greyhound!

Norm is terrific on a lead as he doesn’t pull, just trots along beside you. He’s getting the hang of the name we chose for him and comes when he’s called – his racing name was “Ten’s Twenty”. Norm would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a doggie friend for company or on his own so long as he’s not left alone for long periods of time while he’s settling in to his new home. Secure fencing, toys to play with and chicken necks to munch on (his fave!) will make Norm very happy indeed!

* Due to legislation, Norm must always be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle when outside of a completely fenced area, but that certainly won't detract from his handsome looks! And he certainly doesn't need to wear a muzzle when reclining on the couch!
