About Shadow (On Trial 24/1/13)
Shadow is a 1yo German Shepherd x Red Cattle dog. Medium size, 20kgs. He is a gorgeous young boy with lots of love to give. He is slightly timid when he first meets you but as soon as you start patting him you will have a friend for life. He lays quite happily at my feet while I sit on the lounge after a long day of playing!
He gets on well with my two larger, 40kg dogs, but Shadow is much quicker so has a great advantage! He is very smart and picks things up quickly. Will sit and wait to take treats off you. We are working on waiting for the “ok” at dinner time. He is super eager to please and will be an amazing companion if the right training is provided to him (rewards for good behaviour, not punishment).
His big ears and sweet face are just two of the amazing qualities Shadow possesses. He loves affection and will run his head along your leg to let you know he is there and needs a pat. You just can’t say no to those eyes!
He isn’t a jumper and if he forgets he is very easily corrected. Shadow loves being with his people so needs to be a part of the family! He is used to being allowed to spend time indoors of an evening and this will need to be continued. He would love a companion of his size or larger that is just as active as him. He loves going for walks and investigating all the sniffs and smells so if you are after a fitness partner you’ve found him!
Best description for Shadow is a young gentleman who just wants all the love and affection his people can give him. If he sounds like the dog for you, and you can give him the love he deserves, please call Jenna on 0404 382 067 or Nathan on 0407 518 551 to find out more or meet him. \ Shadow is in foster care in Waratah, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Shadow's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
