About Rocko
Rocko is affectionate, playful, intelligent and full of character.
He is loyal, keen to please and learns quickly.
He likes playing with other dogs and loves trips to the beach and the local river.
He likes a game of fetch and travels well in the car.
He has good basic training and enjoys games and training which let him use his smarts.
Rocko sleeps quietly inside at night and likes to be with his human\humans as much as possible. He also enjoys a sleep outside in the sun and a chew on a bone.
Rocko uses his cuteness to get attention and affection- he sits up and begs! Very cute! He also enjoys a good belly rub!
Rocko is calm but active, he is obedient and dosnt problem bark or dig and he is toilet trained.
Rocko walks well on lead and is easy to handle and really enjoys snuggling in his bed and having quiet time/sleep after he has used up some energy.
He loves to play with other dogs, especially small friendly dogs. Chasey and tug of war with another dog are his favourite games. He also loves a good wrestle!
Rocko has lived with a single lady and hasn’t had much experience with children. So we feel he is more suited to living either with a family with kids over 10 or in a quiet household where he can be the centre of attention! Rocko would also be happy to have a small doggy friend.
Rocko needs a new home where he is a much loved member of the family and can have many adventures and experiences throughout the rest of his life.
Medical notes
Rocko is fit, active and in the prime of his life. He is also desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with parasite control. Rocko is ready to be your walking\couch buddy!
Adoption details
Once the animal is advertised candidates for adoption are requested to fill in a form.
The adoption questionnaire form asks where the animal will sleep, details of people and other animals in the home, training and exercise plans etc. We use this form as part of our screening process.
If we like what we read and the animal’s individual needs are met we then conduct an informal phone interview.
Then the potential adopter meets the animal at the carers home or the carer may choose to take the animal to the adopter’s home to do a house and yard inspection.
If the adopter meets the animal at the carer’s home a house/yard inspection is done after the meet.
When the yard inspection is done we are able to further evaluate the suitability of the candidate to adopt.
If we are satisfied that the animals needs will be met by the adopter and that they are a good match for one another then a trial period may begin.
We have legally binding pre-adoption forms which allow us to remove the animal from the home if all other solutions to issues have failed.
We have a good support base which adopters can utilise if needed, such as a professional trainer, a behaviourist, vets and a groomer.
Homeless Hounds offers support to our adopters for the life of the animal. It is policy that each adopter is aware that if the ever need help or to rehome the animal then HH wants to facilitate that.
Our procedures are based on advice from "model" and well established rescue groups and trial and error.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
