About Kel (On Trial 2/4/13)
Introducing Kel a 2yr old female Kelpie cross. She is a Kelpie in every sense of the word. Extremely energetic, intelligent, and eager to please she picks up commands super quick. She is looking for a family who has an understanding of the Kelpie breed and her daily exercise requirements. Spending all day attempting to catch the ever evasive fly, Kel is always on the go. Although energetic she does like resting her head on my knees for a scratch behind her ears or a pat when her working day is done.
Kel probably never spent anytime with other dogs but learned very quickly how to be social and how to have fun playing. \ One of Kel's funny little quirks is to play hide and seek where she seeks out unusual places to have a doggy nap as opposed to using her bed.
A placid and gentle temperament Kel will settle in to her new family very quickly. \ She is a very independent and a low maintenance dog in terms of amusing herself as long as she has toys, or a Kong to play with. In all the time Kel has been in my care I have only heard her bark once so she is definitely not a yapper.
Ideally Kel would be best suited on a farm or an active family who want an addition to their family. She isn't suited to a home with young children or 1st time dog owners. She would excel at dog sports such as agility, obedience, herding, etc and would love the challenge!
For more information or to meet Kel please phone foster carers Mat 0421 669 884 or email matnchlo@bigpond.com

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
