About Lucy (On Trial 29/1/13)
Lucy is an adorable 5 to 6 month old staffy; the most dog friendly staffy I've ever met. She is small, only 11.5 kgs. On her daily walks she wants to meet and show affection to every dog and human that passes her. She's very playful and if she had it her way would love a dog who would play with her all the time.
When I'm at the beach or out the front of my house, I take Lucy off leash and she stays around me. Sometimes she gets a bit excited and wants to go and lick the face of another dog in close radius (her favorite thing to do is lick dogs faces...she prefers this to sniffing butts!!) and at these times she can forget what "Lucy come" means. But in saying this she never runs off, just waits for you to catch up to her new friend and greets you with hugs and kisses like she hasn't seen you in a year. She is extremely treat motivated and easily trainable. I taught her to sit without a treat and continuing to try more things with her.
If Lucy could talk her favorite words would be "pick me up, cuddle me and love me all day please". She absolutely adores humans and wants nothing more to be in your arms. Yes, she thinks she is small enough to be carried around everywhere and I'm not going to lie, you'll become a sucker for this too!
Overall Lucy is the most amazing girl and I'm not exaggerating when I say she's one in a million. She's is my personal definition of perfect, perfect friend, perfect companion. Lucy needs another dog around her as she does love a good play but also needs a loving leader to give her cuddles and direction. She is submissive which means she is always listening and wants to be trained.
She is great with small and medium sized dogs and also with cats but does get a bit timid around extra large assertive dogs. She currently lives with two small dogs and a 19 year old fragile cat and cares for them like family.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
