About Choccy (On Trial 21/1/13)
Hello my name is Chocolate or Choccy for short. I am a 4 year old Toy Poodle x Maltese x Shih Tzu. I'm incredibly fluffy and only a small dog. I enjoy going for walks and walk nicely on a lead, even when a child walks me. I don't pull or jump away and listen to what I'm told.
I will sit when asked and not jump up on people unless invited. I really enjoy my exercise time. I especially like chasing my ball and bringing it back to you to throw again.
I would like a yard with high fences and lots of room to run but also a place for me to relax. I am a really loving boy and have a wonderful nature. I enjoy bath time so much that I just stand there while you wash me. I don't bark unless provoked or I don't know who is at my front door.
I enjoy other dogs and love my foster brothers, Frisky and Fletch - who are also available for adoption. I also enjoy being around children and would be well suited to a family. \ If you let me, I will follow you everywhere, even to the bathroom :)
Please give me a chance as I am such a wonderful man. I am all ready for you to take me home and love me.
---------
Choccy has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every couple of days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and healthy. He is mainly an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when someone is home, and to sleep inside.
For more information or to meet Choccy please phone foster carer Kylie on 0425 373 885. Choccy is in foster care in East Maitland, NSW (15 minutes north west of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Choccy's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
