About Maggie (On Trial 19/1/13)
This beautiful little lady is Maggie. She is a Shih Tzu, 10yrs young, and a perfect companion. She is a very quiet girl who loves to go for short walks and to go in the car. She is not a barker and loves to cuddle and have belly rubs. She gets on well with everyone: two legs or four. She immediately settled in to her foster family with five other dogs as well as guinea pigs , birds and reptiles.
Maggie has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful. She is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. She is housetrained.
Maggie is obedient, lovable and affectionate. She has been checked by our vet and has no known health problems. Small dogs like Maggie typically live to around 16, so she still has a long life ahead of her to devote to her new family. She would make a wonderful addition to any loving family or person.
For more information or to meet Maggie please phone foster carer Debbie on 0408 825 714. Maggie is in foster care in Beresfield, NSW (near Maitland, northwest of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Maggie's $200 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
