About Rocky (4) (On Trail 27/3/13)
Rocky The Rockstar!! Since 3yo Rocky has found his way into my care, he has flourished into a beautiful Staffy who loves his cuddles and likes to play with the other clan members. Anyone who loves Staffy’s and loves the fact that they have a big heart, well then Rocky (Rockstar) is the Furbaby for you as his heart is huge!!
Rocky is a 3 year old Staffy who has the first three years of his life robbed from him, he spent most of his time on a chain only to be allowed off it 1 hour a day. Rocky was surrendered at the shelter because he wasn’t what his owners wanted in a dog, they left him in such a state, with sores underweight and a lot of sadness for such a young life.
Rocky has also put on weight and is now eating correctly. Rocky also has been living with a cat, and at this stage seems to accept that the Cat is a clan member, but being that the cat is older, I would suggest that with younger cats, that Rocky is supervised in the initial stages of his new forever home, but with time and understanding he will accept that the cat is part of the family as well as himself.
Rocky is a very smart Staffy and with the right amount of training he will be able to do amazing things. Rocky knows his basic commands, walks well on a lead, although being a Staffy he has a tendency to pull on his lead. Rocky in a very short time has also learnt to wait for his meal on command and will only eat when instructed; this was introduced to him to slow him down, and for him to know that he didn’t have to struggle for his next meal… Rocky has also been taught to take food from my hands, with a gentle touch as he interacts with small children while in foster care.
Since Rocky has come into my care he has been an inside/outside dog, so Rocky is still being house trained as he is so used to chained to the fence he sometimes forgets that he needs to go outside for the toilet. Rocky is a fast learner and with some more training i am sure he will keep improving.
For more information or to meet Rocky please phone foster carer Mel on 0432 288 773 or email me11ne@hotmail.com . Rocky is in foster care in Edgeworth, NSW and available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
