About Mini Moo (On Trial 22/1/13)
Mini Moo is a dear little 10 year old Maltese, and a total sweetheart. She loves having her belly rubbed and receiving lots of pats and hugs. She really enjoys a walk too. Mini just wants to be someone's special dog and she will be their most adoring and loyal friend.
Mini Moo let me give her a haircut and trim her nails and wasn't bothered at all. She wasn't worried about the clippers either. I gave her a bath and she just stood in the tub with no trouble at all. Now she is soooo white and fluffy. Mini has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful.
Mini Moo can be rather anxious in new situations and with new people. When stressed she might walk in a circle or lick her paws but can easily be distracted from this with a little kindness. She settled in with me and my 3 other dogs In less than a day and made herself right at home. She's no trouble really. She eats anything, and sleeps all night in her dog bed in the kitchen with my other dogs. She isn't a barker. She is really good on a lead and can even be off lead with no problem.
Mini is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside when the family are home and to sleep inside. She is housetrained of course and will use the doggy door if you have one, or just be let out regularly. She is fine with other small dogs so long as they don't pester her too much.
She settled in here really quickly, so I'm sure she will settle in well in her adoptive home well too. She just needs calm, gentle treatment, and a low stress environment, so she wouldn't be suited to a home with children. Someone who doesn't work and had time for her would be ideal.
For more information or to meet Mini please phone foster carer Geraldine on 0402-008-150 or email jez50@me.com. Mini is in foster care in Glendale, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle).
Mini's $200 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
