About Dion
Dion is a beautiful silver/grey miniature poodle with a fantastic personality. He is approximately 16 months old, very active and loves to play with toys and other dogs. He is not suited to being left alone for long periods and must go to a home where there is someone with him the majority of the time. He enjoys going for walks on the lead and is well behaved. We would prefer him to go to someone who has previous experience with poodles - they are a very possessive and intelligent breed. Grooming every 8-10 weeks is essential to keep their coat in tip top condition, and is costly (approximately $40 each time if carried out by a professional groomer).Dion would benefit from being the only dog as he can becone jealous of other dogs.He has abundant levels of energy and loves to play and run around so if there was another dog they would have to get to know each other during a 2 week trial period. Dion will not be placed where there are children under the age of 10 years as he is far too boisterous for them. Please see medical notes below. A full report from the vet is available on request. Application to adopt Dion is now open.
Medical notes
Dion has been examined and x rayed and found to have damage to his left hip joint. This damage may have been caused by trauma and resulted in a roughening of the normally smooth articular cartilage. This results in Dion sporadically showing signs of minor lameness in his left hind leg. This problem is permanent but is not affecting Dion's quality of life or his general mobility. A full report from the vet is available on request.
