About Yoda ~ Sweet senior only $200 On Trial 10/01/13
Yoda is such an affectionate and easy going dog. He is happy just to spend the day on the lounge, especially if he has some company. He is a gorgeous 8 yo Shih Tzu, who loves people.
He is just wonderful, with no issues or problems. He is not a barker, if he hears a noise, he will just go and look to find out where it is coming from. He walks well on a lead. He uses the doggy door to go out when needed. He doesn't jump up on people. He doesn't demand attention, but loves to receive it when you have time. He is happy to wait and watch while I put his food in his bowl, but it doesn't stay in there long, he licks his bowl clean! Even though he loves his food he doesn't bother me when I'm eating.
Like many dogs, he's not a fan of having a bath, he tries to jump out. Yoda has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful. Naturally, Yoda is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside when the family are home and to sleep inside. He is housetrained.
We haven't tested him with other dogs or cats yet. When he hears dogs in my neighbour's yard, but just goes to the fence and looks. He is a very pretty boy, his photos don't do him justice because he doesn't like getting his photo taken.
Yoda recently had a full veterinary checkup including full dental work. We found out that he is blind in one eye, but you would never know it. His foster carer didn't know until the vet pointed it out.
At only 8, he still has half his life ahead of him. He is a very easy and affectionate boy who will fit into any gentle, loving and kind home, where he could be given the job of spreading some love and companionship.
For more information or to meet Yoda please phone foster carer Sharyn on 02-4023-3837 or 0414-247-633 or Michelle on 02-4951-1896. Yoda is in foster care in New Lambton, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Yoda's $200 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
