About Rex (On Trial 14/3/13)
Rex is a 6 year old Boxer x staffy. He is an absolute charmer. He is happy to just lay around and sleep. He has become my young daughter's shadow. He loves a cuddle and is a big boy with a massive heart.
Rex is good to walk on a lead is dog friendly. Rex is house trained. He has some basic training. Rex does not seem to be a barker unless there is someone at the door, but as soon as you tell him it's ok he will walk away and lay down.
Like many dogs, Rex is terrified of fireworks so shouldn't be left home alone during fireworks. Rex is a very sweet boy and extremely loyal. He will make an ideal friend and protector of children. He will be very grateful to have a home of his own and bring lots of love and happiness with him in return. Rex was rescued from a local pound by Dog Rescue Newcastle as we thought this big beautiful boy deserved to live.
For more information or to meet Rex please phone foster carer Kim 0423 227 048 . Rex is in foster care in Glendale, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Rex's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
