About Charlie (2) (On Trial 6/1/13)
Charlie is an 8 month old male Kelpie X Cattle Dog, a typical energetic, excitable, distractable young dog. Loves to run around and play. Would suit place with playful dogs for him.
Would not suit being an only dog unless the owner/carer would give him 24/7 attention. Charlie will fret when you leave him or when you take him away from other dogs as he is still young I would recommend further training.
He knows sit and lay down and will come when called. He is currently learning how to walk on a lead and further training will be required. A smart boy who is happy and eager to learn.
Charlie will need regular walks and playtime to work off some of his energy. Might not be suitable for small kids as he can jump. Charlie just wants to find that special someone to give him a loving forever home.
Charlie is in foster care in Maitland NSW. For more information or to meet Charlie, please phone his foster carer Liz 0418-226-605 or Caroline on 02-4988-6401 .
Dog Rescue Newcastle www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation. Our $400 adoption fee covers the dog's de-sexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, micro-chipping, and lifetime registration.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
