About Abel (On Trial 22/12/12)
Abel is a Cattle Dog X puppy, 8 weeks old. He has been cared for by a family with children and so is very accepting of both children and other dogs, large and small. He loves being with people and with other dogs. He hasn't met a cat yet, but being so young he could learn to be friendly with cats and other animals. He will grow to be a medium to large sized dog. Even though he had an unfortunate start in life(found on a bush track in a cardboard box at 4 weeks old) Abel is now in excellent health.
He sleeps both inside and outside with no problems.?He is nearly fully housetrained and can goes outside to go to the toilet when the back door is open. Abel would love a home with another dog as he is currently in foster care with his brother Patch and an adult dog and two other puppies but he also enjoys time lying in the garden by himself. Abel is very affectionate and enjoys the company of people, he loves nothing better than being part of his human family and having cuddles and snuggles, and he is ready to find his forever home now.
Abel is a very pretty puppy with a white body and tan patches on his body markings. His brother Patch is white and grey like the traditional cattle dog colours. Abel is the quieter of the two puppies but can be active and cheeky when he feels comfortable and loved around you or when playing with his litter mates. Patch and Abel were born on approximately 20/10/12. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life.
Abel and Patch are in foster care in New Lambton, NSW. For more information or to meet them, please phone foster Carer Siobhan on 02 4952 5406 or 0408 603 156.
Abel's $450 adoption fee includes his desexing, 1st and 2nd vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. www.DogRescueNewcastle.com.au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
