About Lacey
Lacey is growing into an absolutely fabulous Staffy girl. At only 18 months old, she is far from a fully mature Staffy, but she is so eager to please her humans (and her big foster sister) that she works hard to keep her cheeky behaviours in check.
This gorgeous girl wants to be near her humans, and if that isn't possible, she'll settle for sleeping next to her doggie sister. She is also on good terms with the cat, and is very very easily corrected when her play gets too rambunctious
Lacey's got basic obedience down pat and rarely barks. She is trained to wait for her food bowl, and to stay out of the kitchen when breakfast is cooking. She is doing well in her crate training and also travels exceptionally well in the car. Like most rescue dogs, Lacey is somewhat new to the lead, but her desire to please is so strong we have no doubt she'll learn very quickly.
Lacey loves all humans, including children, but as she is a Staffy and can be quite sturdy and bull-like, she requires supervision around small children. She is learning to be gentle.
Because of her fair skin, lovely Lacey will need to be an indoor dog so she can avoid sun damage.
If you love Staffies and Boxers, and are ready to be loved and adored as only a Staffy mutt can do, Lacey might be your girl. She's the perfect snuggle wump, and will definitely help save on heating bills as she is a little furnace!
MY IDEAL HOME: My ideal home has another dog to keep me company. I'd also love for my humans to be around a lot too, because I cannot be left in a yard during the work day. My new family would permit me to be in the room with them most all of the time, and would take me along on their journeys when appropriate. \
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I am definitely Staffy, but the Boxer in me means that when I calm down, I get really calm. I enjoy chewing on old marrow bones, as long as they are not splintering because that is bad for my tummy.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Because of my ability to give 1000% doggie love, I could do well with children because I could love them with all my heart. However, these children's parents would need to train them on how to be safe around a Staffy (not let me knock them over or bump them with my anvil-like head). Until I am fully mature and have mastered my use of my mouth (only for kisses with humans) I should not be unsupervised with children. But because I am young and most of my puppy is behind me, I could give children many many years of love as they grow and mature.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS & DOGS: I have loved all the dogs I have met. When playing with another Staffy (particularly a female one), it is good to supervise me because I can get really really excited. When I can get close to the cat in my home, I want to sniff her. It is good that she can take care of herself, because I might get too curious if the cat didn't put me in my place.
Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill an enquiry form.
You can receive this by emailing maggiesrescueadoptions@gmail.com or visiting our webpage www.maggiesrescue.org
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
