About Fergus (On Trial 11/12/12)
Fergus is a 3 year old Maltese x Shih Tzu. He loves cuddles and kisses. He already knows some basic commands, walks well on lead, and is housetrained. He is learning to play with toys and it's a joy to watch him blossoming after his less than perfect beginning in life.
Fergus is a very good boy and a pleasure to have around the house. He is an inside dog and needs to be allowed in the house when the family are home and to sleep inside. He is no trouble at night and sleeps happily on his own pillow beside the bed.
Fergus gets on well with other dogs but hates cats, can’t be around them and tries to bite them. He is such good company and barks to let you know when someone is at the door.
He has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful. On the plus side, he won't leave hair on your clothes or furniture.
Fergus seems to be more used to women but gets used to men who are gentle with him so he would be suited to a home with a female presence. He is not a fussy eater, travels well in the car, and is just a sweet, happy little man. Fergus is a perfect little companion dog and will bring lots of love and cuddles to his forever home.
For more information or to meet Fergus please phone foster carers Paul & Christie – 0406 017 471 or 0404 380 999 or email happysmurf2008@hotmail.com \ . Fergus is in foster care in Jesmond, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Fergus's $450 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
