Charlie

Hi, my name is Charlie and I’m 7 years old.

I have A LOT of energy and need to be exercised regularly! I LOVE going for walks, running and playing with my owner and I also love people, they’re my favourite. I also like just hanging out with my owner inside, snuggled in my bed – my favourite place!

When I’ve been exercised I have a relaxed temperament and am happy to go about sleeping and relaxing, if I don’t get to go outside and play, I get a bit restless.

I’m really obedient and smart and can do almost anything you tell me to do…like, sit, stay, drop…even fun things like roll-over and shake hands… Although when there are other dogs around I tend to lose focus and forget what my owner is telling me to do.

I used to live with my friend Meg (a curly-coat retriever) but since she passed away (back in 2009) I haven’t lived with any other dogs so I don't know if I want to live with another dog again now.

I love chewing on bones and I love treats. I don't chew on shoes or clothes, but don’t leave any tubes of toothpaste or lip-gloss around as I like to chew on the plastic. I love sitting up with my owner, but I don’t get up on the couch or bed unless I’m told to…but once I’m up, I stay still.
