About Tom Thumb
I'm trying a new home to see if i like it!!
Tom thumb was found by a good samaritan wandering along the street in extremely bad condition and taken to the local pound. Tt has very bad skin and was deemed non-rehomable by the pound unless he went to a rescue group who could provide medical treatment. Tt is such a nice little dog that paws decided to give him a go and has started him on a regime of expensive drugs in an attempt to solve his skin problem. We believe that he deserves a chance because he has probably suffered for
Most of his life with this problem. Tt is on twice weekly malaseb baths, takes a drug called atopica and eats food specifically made to help dogs with skin conditions. Hopefully within 4 weeks (if the drug does its job!) tt should start growing a nice thick coat, the redness will go out of his skin and he will have some respite from the constant itching. Update 4 february: tom thumb is doing exceptionally well on his skin medication and special food. His skin improved in no time flat and he has an almost full coat now. T. T. Has stopped scratching and is enjoying his life but needs to stay on the medication for about another 4 weeks and then we will wean him off slowly to make sure his skin problem has finally gone. . . . Hopefully soon after that he will be ready for rehoming. When available for adoption, tom thumb will come desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and with local council lifetime registration for $315. If you would like more information on tom thumb or to arrange to meet him, please phone denise on 0419 695206 or email using adoption enquiry as your subject heading. Before phoning or emailing, please check denise's rescued dogs in foster care on www. Paws. Com. Au for any updated photos and to make sure this dog is still available for adoption. Listed 22 november. Rescued by denise

What an achievment for little tom as we think its probably the first time in his life! tom behaved impeccably while in the hands of our wonder groomer maureen and she couldn't speak highly enough of him as he lapped up all of the attention while she clipped and scissored his lovely new coat. Tom then had a wonderful bath in some aloveen shampoo and conditioner and came out smelling like a movie star. Tom is now ready for a new home and it's been a long time coming but we wanted to wait until he had recovered from his years of neglect and it was worth the wait. Tom needs a home without small children because he is quite tiny and may be a little scared of them if they are to noisy. He is most definitely a house dog and must live inside with the family as he loves sitting on the bed and rolls around and around enjoying the quilt on his body. Tom would suit a family that has the time to dedicate to him. He will be fine as an only dog and loves his foster carer's cat so would also be fine with a friendly cat for company. Tom loves going out for walks in his little harness and will prance along beside you
