About Opie (On Trial 24/12/12)
Opie is a 9 week old Shepherd cross. He is cute as a button and looks a little like a foxie. This little guy has perfected his ‘puppy dog eyes’ look and is irresistible! He is currently in foster care with his brother Jax (also available for adoption).
Opie loves his toys and to wrestle with other dogs. He enjoys playing out in the back yard with the other dogs but he is small and tires quickly so he is also happy sitting by you and just watching all the action. He loves lots of pats and cuddles and his favourite time of day is meal time! Opie will tell you when he's getting hungry and structured feeding will be required.
Opie loves other dogs and would do best with a family who already has a dog. He was very happy and excited to meet our dog Mia and took to her straight away, giving her lots of kisses.
We have started house training and things are going well but there is still the odd accident here and there, but he is young and he should grow out of this soon. Ongoing house training and puppy preschool are recommended.
If you don't have a dog already that's ok but this little guy will need lots of attention. He will get lonely if left home alone for long periods or all day. he will benefit from a daily walk and ongoing socialisation.
Opie should grow to be a medium dog. He is a gorgeous pup who has a lot of love to give and will fit in well with a family of any shape or size. He definitely is a little pup with a big personality and it will be hard to see him go.
Opie has had his first vaccination and will need to be retuned to one of our approved vets for his second vaccination due on approximately 7/12/12.
Opie is in foster care in Mayfield, NSW. For more information or to meet Opie, please phone his foster carer Kirra on 0408 620 764.
Opie's $450 adoption fee covers his de-sexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, micro-chipping, and lifetime registration.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
