About Starsky and Hutch (On Trial 17/3/13)
Starsky and Hutch, 5 year old Dachshund x Cattle Dogs: small cattle dogs on Dashy legs! They are very much little individuals, yet these two assumed brothers take great comfort in each other and would be best adopted as a pair. They are two easy going, low maintenance men, who want nothing more than a belly rub, a walk down the road and a few chicken necks. They rarely jump, are content to just walk by your side. They have been great with the children, sitting and rolling over for pats ,and have not shown any interest in the rabbit or bird.

Starsky and Hutch were rescued from a pound. Originally they lay quietly by the gate as if they were waiting for someone special to take them home. But each day they would join us more. After almost a week of outside fun their little characters are coming out. They have grown in their confidence and trust and are getting back to enjoying life as dogs, even surprising me by swimming in the rivers.
Their calm, passive nature is always to retreat. They are more than happy to have a sedentary lifestyle and you hardly know they are here as they snuggle all day without a sound. They are very familiar with walking on the lead, they get excited to see their leads and know it means adventure time and also love the car. They have also come for hour- 2 hourly walks with us off lead and are the most willing of the dogs to come when called. They love swimming and rolling in smells and are well socialised, yet keep to themselves when in a pack, rarely initiating play with other dogs.
Starsky and Hutch are two very easy going dogs who will be no trouble and fit into any loving home. They would be great for people who work because they will keep each other company, then give you a happy welcome when you come home. You'll have the pleasure of their company and of watching them blossom and grow in confidence and affection every day.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
