Maggie

Maggie is a 5 and a half year old, friendly, gentle, sweet natured King Charles Cavalier. She is house trained and will walk on a lead fairly well after a reminder or two not to pull, when she is excited.

She comes fairly well when called and doesn't run off, or try to evade being put on the lead, more that she mooches around looking for food. She is a healthy weight and has no health problems.
She will bark at the gate if someone goes past or knocks on the door, but is friendly once they come in. She will wander up to people on the beach and just sit down beside them if they give her any encouragement. She will sit beside your towel if you swim but isn't very keen on swimming herself, though occasionally will come into the water. She enjoys a bit of play in the garden but doesn't 'fetch' balls or that sort of thing. Excellent with children of all ages. Very good in the car over any distance ... she has been on family holidays down south many times.

She gets on well with other dogs but will 'submit' if they show any rough-house tendencies or bowl her over etc as larger puppies sometimes do on walks.

She is happiest when she is with you but will sleep on her bed in her designated area in the evenings and daytime without complaint ... but is always keen to be with you when you return from an outing.
She loves attention but doesn't pester for it, she is low maintenance and not hugely energetic ... mostly sleeps but comes alive for food and walks. I let the dogs run free in dog exercise areas and dog beaches but she can walk on the lead for long walks too.

She currently shares her household with another dog and a cat and school age children -- she sometimes chases the cat but not aggressively it's more of a game between them. She would probably chase a cat if she came across one outside though.

She laps up attention and enjoys being admired ... would suit a family or perhaps an elderly person who's had cavaliers in the past.
