About Ian (special boy!) *On Trial in His New Home*
*IAN IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME* Dropped at our local vet clinic with a smashed jaw after apparently being hit by a car this lovely little dog, who never growled or complained once during his ordeal, won the hearts of the vet staff who knew he couldn’t go to the pound with his injury but without an owner looking for him the only option seemed to be to put him to sleep. Then one morning they came in to find the head vet and owner of the clinic repairing and pinning the dog’s jaw which, upon recovery, they called us SARG folk for help and the staff asked if we could name him “Ian” after his softie saviour so of course we obliged!! Now Ian is loving life being spoilt in foster care while we find him a wonderful, caring forever home; will it be with you?
Lovely little Ian is a lapdog, two taps on your knee and he’s up for cuddles! He’s good with other friendly dogs though is wary of cats, preferring to keep his distance from them and he’s not at all yappy or in your face. As you can see from his video Ian loves a good game of fetch and when you’ve had enough he’s happy to throw his toys around for himself – he’s quite the little show off. \ Ian also enjoys water and likes to splash around in his doggie pool. He’s terrific on a lead and his carer’s been brushing up on his “sit” and “stay” and he’s getting the hang of his new name and comes when he’s called. This happy, loving boy is confident around adults of all shapes and sizes and he thinks kids are lots of fun!!! He’s also a good little eater and the fact that he’s missing quite a few teeth on the bottom right hand side of his jaw hasn’t slowed him down too much.

Handsome Ian is quite low-maintenance only needing a short walk or a run around the backyard to use up his energy. Being a Poodle x Ian doesn’t shed hair though he’ll require a good brush once a week and a clip a few times a year to keep his coat in tip-top condition. Secure fencing, chicken necks to gnaw on, toys to play with and lots of cuddles will make adorable Ian very happy indeed!
As he only weighs a few kilos Ian’s a terrific “take anywhere” size dog and as he’s housetrained and sleeps inside he would enjoy an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a small doggie friend or on his own but only if he won’t be left alone for long periods of time especially while he settles into his new home as Poodle’s can be a bit sooky.
