About Berlioz
*Dual Adoption with soul mate Pedra*
Meet Berlioz, a beautiful 3 year old Ragdoll/Birman cross. Unfortunately Berlioz hasn’t had the easiest life so far. He was abandoned by his previous owner and was living under a house with Pedra when he came into the care of Little Paws. As a consequence Berlioz has some confidence issues to work on. He is very shy, wary of movement and noise, and startles easily. Berlioz needs a quiet household with people who can be patient and let him take time to build his confidence.
Once Berlioz is over his initial shyness, he can be very mischievous and playful. He loves stalking bugs and chasing his favourite string toy, and has a seemingly endless supply of energy once he gets into ‘play’ mode.
Berlioz is desperate to be loved, and will head butt your hand or flop down next to you looking for pats once he’s warmed up to you. He is always first in line to sit next to his foster mum on the couch and get spoilt with affection. Berlioz likes to know where you are and will follow you from room to room to keep you in eye sight (even following you to the bathroom!). He is much more comfortable showing affection if his humans are sitting down or in bed though – they’re just so tall and unpredictable otherwise!
Berlioz needs to be kept as an indoor only pet. Ideally his owner will have experience with long haired breeds as he requires regular grooming.
Berlioz tends to bond very closely with just one person so would suit a single person or perhaps a couple looking for a companion pet. It is unlikely he will ever be confident around strangers so he needs an owner that understands and respects this. Berlioz needs a quiet family that can be patient and help him see that humans aren’t going to hurt him. Berlioz gets more affectionate every day, and if you can give him time and let him approach you on his own terms, he will be the most wonderful, loving, loyal pet you could ask for.
Berlioz is available for dual adoption with Pedra (see separate profile). Please ensure you read Pedra’s profile before enquiring about adopting this beautiful pair.
