About Sammy (2) (On Trial 17/11/12)
Hi I am Sammy. I’m an 18 month Border Collie boy, black all over except my chin, chest and toes which are white. I’m big and fluffy with a huge heart! My name is only new to me so I am still learning to respond to it and I have some basic training and manners, but would benefit from further training and patience.
I currently live with 2 foster dog siblings and 2 small children that keep me amused and wear me out, even though I am energetic I am also a bit of a lazy bones. Cuddles with foster parents are frequent and I don’t like to let go.
My nature is very gentle and I haven’t knocked over any of the small kids that play with me. I don’t really care if you have cats as they pretty much don’t interest me as they can’t play like others can, but I still say a nice hello even when they hiss and swipe at me.
I do like to come inside, but I am still learning my toilet manners so until I get them better I am living outside but locked in at night time. I’m also learning I need to hold on through the night but learned that quickly once I was settled after a few days of living here.
I would like a new family who will want to spend time with me, play and walk. I don’t need constant supervision as I can easily amuse myself in a well behaved manner. A bone can last me hours and I like to catch up on my beauty sleep when no one is playing with me.
So if you’re looking for a mature boy that is still young at heart, I’m your dog!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID to prove you live there.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
