About Jess
Jess is a real sweety who has been a pleasure to have as a foster. She is kind, loving and playful and will make a great companion or addition to a family. \ The combination of kelpie and staffy makes her intelligent and eager to learn. \ With other dogs Jess is excellent too. She loves to socialise and play and will do so until she tires out. She has only met 2 children, but licked them both and did not appear to have any aggression at all. Jess has not met any cats at this stage. Jess is currently attending doggy school to learn to walk nicely on the lead and to become familiar with everyday situations. In only a short time she has come a long way, but still has a little way to go. So far Jess has not been off the lead, but this is not anticipated to be a problem in the future.
Jess loves the company of people and dogs so would suit an active family where she could join in on the fun, or a working couple/ single that has a dog and wants another. At this stage Jess needs attention and further training, including regular walks, so she would not suit anyone not willing to take her out.

Jess has been desexed, micro chipped and vaccinated. she is uptodate with flea and worm control.
Adoption details
Once the animal is advertised candidates for adoption are requested to fill in a form.
The adoption questionnaire form asks where the animal will sleep, details of people and other animals in the home, training and exercise plans etc. We use this form as part of our screening process.
If we like what we read and the animal’s individual needs are met we then conduct an informal phone interview.
Then the potential adopter meets the animal at the carers home or the carer may choose to take the animal to the adopter’s home to do a house and yard inspection.
If the adopter meets the animal at the carer’s home a house/yard inspection is done after the meet.
When the yard inspection is done we are able to further evaluate the suitability of the candidate to adopt.
If we are satisfied that the animals needs will be met by the adopter and that they are a good match for one another then a trial period may begin.
We have legally binding pre-adoption forms which allow us to remove the animal from the home if all other solutions to issues have failed.
We have a good support base which adopters can utilise if needed, such as a professional trainer, a behaviourist, vets and a groomer.
Homeless Hounds offers support to our adopters for the life of the animal. It is policy that each adopter is aware that if the ever need help or to rehome the animal then HH wants to facilitate that.
Our procedures are based on advice from "model" and well established rescue groups and trial and error.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
