On Hold
About Belle (On Trial 21/11/12)
On hold pending adoption. Please consider our other dogs and puppies at www.DogRescueNewcastle.com.au . . .
Belle is an 11 month old Blue Cattle Dog. She is young, bright, friendly and alert. She loves to play with other dogs and is great with people and children particularly with our special needs child. If you are willing to give her some love and attention she will be your best friend forever.
Belle can be protective of her surrounds and would make a great guard dog if you are away from the house. She already responds to most commands but there is plenty more for her to learn, especially if you take her to dog training classes. She is very smart and would enjoy learning.
Belle has some fears and has had some trauma in her short life. Getting wet from the hose or buckets of water is a particularly large issue, however recently she enjoyed paddling in the lake. With the right family and a little help we are sure Belle can overcome the bathing issues.
She is a very food orientated dog and although there has been a minor incident or two, we believe it can be used as an excellent training tool. In a stable home we have seen some behavioural improvements in the time Belle has been with us and believe she can mature into an exceptional dog.
Don’t be fooled by cattle dog hype, with the right family and environment they are loving, loyal and protective, especially with children. Being a working breed they love being active so suit exercise minded people and take commands and training very well.
Belle has what it takes! Have you got what it takes to guide Belle in life and be her friend?
For more information or to meet Belle please phone foster carer Melanie on 02 4956 9525 or 0431 184 213 or email quickmons@exemail.com.au Belle is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Belle's $400 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID to prove you live there.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
