About BJ (adopted by foster carer on 12/1/13)
BJ is a Jack Russell x Tenterfield Terrier who is 18 months old. He is quite a character and loves to play and can create games for himself for hours. He also loves to watch TV. I believe BJ is a super smart young man. He is energetic and walks well on the lead, but shouldn't be off the lead. He likes to play fetch and other ball games. He has a favourite toy pig, which is really cute to watch him play.
BJ likes being outside for reasonable periods of time but not all day long by himself. He needs to be inside in the evening and overnight because he loves being part of the family. He is of course housetrained.
BJ enjoys cuddling on the lounge but is equally happy in his doggy bed. He is not a barker and is very well behaved and sits on command. He isn't a fussy eater. He gets on well with other dogs. He has a short easy care coat mostly pure white and tan markings.
BJ was sadly surrendered by his elderly owner who went into hospital. He settled into foster care very quickly and I'm sure he'll love going to his forever home. He would suit a family with children as he loves to play and be part of family life. BJ will make a wonderful companion and will truly melt your heart.
For more information or to meet BJ please phone foster carer Robyn 02 4972 0804 or 0468-435-587. BJ is in foster care in Birmingham Gardens, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
BJ's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. Dog Rescue Newcastle www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation. Your support allows us to continue saving other homeless dogs like BJ.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID to prove you live there.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
