Ava *On Trial in Her New Home*

*AVA IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HER NEW HOME* This little pocket-rocket pooch is Ava, she was left behind at our local pound - lucky for Ava she’s now enjoying life in foster care while we search for her perfect forever home; will it be with you???

Adorable Ava is being shown the ropes by her carers’ Lab cross and her Ridgeback cross who won’t take any cheek from Ava who likes to wear the pants when it comes to dogs her own size although she isn’t dog aggressive just a bit bossy. If she gets too much for the “boys” they just give Ava a friendly swat with their paw and she settles down again – it helps that her foster carer is firm with her too. Ava enjoys a romp and a play and all 3 dogs share bones, toys and bowls without any dramas. Adorable Ava is confident around adults and she is good with older children though just like any young dog she can be a bit “bouncy” around toddlers. She can also be a little “mouthy” still when she gets excited so her carer is working on this. Ava thrives on human contact and would be quite happy playing the role of lapdog in any home; she’s a lovely little snuggler! Ava’s not yappy though makes a good watchdog as she will give a warning bark when necessary. And at less than 4kgs she’s a terrific “take anywhere” size!

Pretty girl Ava is quite low-maintenance only needing a short walk or a run around the backyard to use up her energy – she’s loves going for walks on a lead. We wouldn’t recommend her to a home with cats as she does tend to want to chase them. Ava appears to be housetrained and has only had a couple of “accidents” since arriving in care and learning the household routine (she usually chooses to sleep inside at night) so she may need a little help again when adjusting to her forever home. Secure fencing, little bones to chew on, toys to play with and lots of cuddles will make loveable Ava very happy indeed!

Ava would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either her humans all to herself where she won’t be left alone for long periods of time or with a medium to large friendly doggie for company – she’s bossiest with little dogs so we don’t recommend her living with one.
