About Monty (On Hold 6/10/12)
-- On Hold. Deposit taken 8/10/12 --
Monty is a 3 year old, purebred Shih Tzu. He is a lovely, happy little boy, who loves playing with his toys and going for little walks. He has beautiful brown eyes and a very distinguished moustache!
Monty has a very calm personality and enjoys the company of other dogs. He is an absolute joy to have around. He is very cuddly loves a good tummy rub.
I have not seen Monty with a cat yet but he is so laid back I expect they would get along. He is good with my 2 dogs who are old and grumpy. Sometimes they snap at him and he just walks away from him. He's a very fine dog.
Monty is a breed that doesn't shed. He will need brushing a few times a week, bathing every 3 weeks and professional clipping at least every 2 months. On the plus side, he will not drop dog hair all over your house or clothing. Monty is very unusual for a Shih Tzu because he is brown and white instead of the more common black and while.
Monty will need to go to a home where he will be an inside dog and a treasured member of the family.
Monty is in foster care in Mayfield, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate. For more information or to meet Monty please phone foster carer Di on 0413-310-791 or email di_keenan@y7mail.com
Dog Rescue Newcastle www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation. Monty's $450 adoption fee covers his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. Your support allows us to continue saving other homeless dogs like Monty.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID to prove you live there.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
