Teddy *On Trial in His New Home*

*TEDDY IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME* Our little wonder boy Teddy came to us after his former owners asked for our help with finding him a new home as their work took them away from home too often and Teddy boy was left “home alone”, so we said we’d be thrilled to find him some company in a loving new home; will it be with you?

Teddy is now in care with one of our foster families who love having him. Foster mum shared with us the poor boy’s first few nights; Night one: she made him up a cosy warm bed beside her own little dogs, but poor Teddy wasn’t used to this kind of “luxury”, so instead he spent his first night curled up in a ball on the back lawn and no amount of coaxing would get him off that freezing grass and into his nice new bed. Night two: progress off the back lawn to sleeping beside the laundry door – still not giving in completely, instead sleeping on the ground beside his lovely warm bed, BUT by night three he decided to accept foster mum’s first-rate offer and snuggle down into that cosy bed beside his canine foster family and finally sleep in luxury. Teddy hasn’t fully progressed to being an inside/outside boy, as he wasn’t allowed inside in his previous home, but with love and encouragement we’re sure he’ll get the hang of it and soon be enjoying what he’s been missing out on!

Teddy is described as a lovely little dog with a few cute trick’s up his sleeve - he “dances” on his back legs, and when sitting he “puts his best paw forward’ which just tugs at your heart strings. Teddy is not a lap dog type; he will sit on your lap, accept a friendly pat or two, then politely jump down and sit beside you instead. He’s really not a needy type and is used to spending quite a lot of time on his own in his former home. Teddy gets along well with other little dogs and isn’t fazed by his carer’s cats. He has been around children and is fine with them so would fit well into most homes. While in foster care clever boy Teddy has been learning the “sit” command as well as how to walk on a lead as he hadn’t spent much time one-on-one in his previous life. Handsome Teddy doesn’t shed much hair though he’ll require regular brushing and clipping to keep his coat in tip-top condition. A short walk or a run around the backyard to use up his energy plus secure fencing, chicken necks to chew on and toys to play with will make Teddy very happy indeed!

As Teddy previously spent so much time on his own we would like to see him find a loving new home with either a friendly dog or cat for company or on his own but only if he won’t be left alone for long periods of time.
