About Max (On Trial 8/10/12)
Hi, I'm Max, a 6 year old Maltese x Shih Tzu. My heart’s delight is to be my foster mum’s shadow. I am content just to sit beside her on the couch, at her feet or on her lap just enjoying being loved and giving lots of love. I absolutely love to snuggle and cuddle and play gently with anyone who is willing. It is my delight to give big cuddles and just sit on a lap for ages, or with my head resting on a lap.
I am a quiet little man who hardly ever barks except to tell my foster mum that there is someone at the door, and then only a couple of woofs. I enjoy playing with the other dogs at my foster home, and meeting other small dogs.
Training: I love going for walks and am doing really well at walking on a lead. Foster mum prefers that I walk in a harness because I get very excited when I see another dog and try to slip my collar to chase after them. I haven’t seen any cats around here so I haven’t shown my foster mum what I think of them yet. I know how to ‘Stay’ and ‘Come’ and I am learning to ‘sit’ on command.
Grooming: I am a breed that doesn't shed. This means that I need regular baths (every 3 weeks) and brushing. I need to have my fur clipped at least every 8 weeks. On the plus side, I will not drop dog hair all over your house or clothing. Mum says I'm a very rare and handsome boy because I'm almost pure white all over.
My future: Since I was delivered to my new foster home, I am gradually coming out of my shell. I love to sleep on the bed with my foster mum all night. I will need to go to a forever home which loves to have me inside and keeps me nice and warm and safe at night.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID to prove you live there.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
