About Tanka (On Trial)
-- On Trial in a new home 23/9/12 ---
Tanka is a soft, adorable red cattle male who has grown up with a family but has been surrendered reluctantly due to family circumstances. Tanka is a 3 year old who enjoys playing with other dogs, but who would also cope well as an only dog. Tanka has come from a loving home. So there are no unknown issues. He gets on very well with other dogs, so he would be great at a dog park off lead. He is used to a normal family life, so she would settle into her new home instantly. Tanka loves to play ball, he will bring it back to you. He is such a gentle boy, he is not a barker. He is a lovely boy and a joy to have around. He is a real companion dog that would love to follow you around and be your constant companion. He is very obedient, is great on lead, and has been trained in all basic commands. He would be great for a family or an older owner who is looking for a companion. Tanka has a calm happy nature, and is a delight to have around. Dog rescue newcastle www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation. Our adoption fee ($400) covers the dog's desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. . . Tanka is in foster care on the central coast nsw, and is available for adoption interstate. For more information or to meet her please contact annette (contact details below)

Read about our Adoption Procedure on our website: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt.html#procedure
If you see a dog on our website then ither ring or email the contact person listed on the pet's description (contact us if you can't reach them). The pet's foster carer can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID to prove you live there.
If both sides agree, then you can adopt your new family member! When you pick up your new pet, you will be asked to:
- sign 2 copies of our Adoption Agreement
- sign a NSW Companion Animals Register-Change of Owner/Details form, and
- pay the Adoption Fee (cash, bank cheque, postal order, or direct debit)
The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. If, at the end of the trial period, you are happy to adopt the pet, and we are happy to allow it, then we complete the change of ownership paperwork and register it at council making the pet yours.
About a week or two later you will receive the ownership documentation in the mail, along with your new pet's vaccination and desexing certificates. If you decide to return the animal within the trial period we will refund your Adoption Fee less a $50 admin fee.
This is just a guide. Special arrangements and variations to the procedure are made when you live outside the Newcastle/Lake Macquarie area. Most of our pets are available for interstate adoption. Please contact us about this procedure.
