About Diesel (2) (On Trial 24/12/12)
Diesel is a playful, male, kelpie pup about 10 months old. He enjoys running around the backyard, playing with his foster puppy friends, and long walks with his foster parents.
Diesel has come a long way since joining Dog Rescue Newcastle, although he still jumps at loud noises, and can be a little nervous around people at first. But after a few minutes Diesel comes out of his shell and warms the heart of anyone who comes into contact with him. He enjoys company, so would benefit from having someone at home more often than not. However as long as someone is home each day to give him the attention he deserves, Diesel will continue to flourish.
Diesel now comes to his name, understands other basic commands and tries hard to please. He is not boisterous, so does not annoy the neighbours, in fact he has them loving him just as much as we do. He has a heart of gold, and this can be seen with his interaction with his foster puppy friends no matter what size.
As with any young pup, Diesel will continue to need guidance and training through the puppy stage - but he is learning through positive reinforcement and activities that keep this young boy busy. Although currently an inside at night dog, if given his own kennel he would be able to adapt (though he would still need some "inside" time each day).
Diesel really is a beautiful soul, who has come to play a big part in our lives and will do the same for his new forever home. Please contact Karen on 0403 94 001 or kaz.fraser@hotmail.com should you wish to meet Diesel.
Diesel is in Blacksmiths, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate. His $400 adoption fee covers his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID to prove you live there.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
