About Snow (On Trial)
Meet snow… a 3 yr old, male, maltese x shih tzu. He is an easy-going, happy little dog that loves nothing more than to play!!snow is infatuated with his squeaky ball and will play with it for hours, whether with someone or by himself. He plays fetch very well and also likes to play chasies with his doggie mates. Snow is very easy to have around. He knows basic commands and doesn’t chew anything except his toys and rawhide bones. He is also house trained, as long as he knows where to go out to the toilet. Snow has been around young children since he was a puppy so he is use to having children around. He doesn’t bite but does jump up on occasion so will need to be supervised with smaller children. He often gets up on his hind legs and does a little dance, so would be great entertainment for a family. Snow has been an only dog most of his life so is happy to be left alone for small periods of time, whether inside or out. He sleeps inside on the couch with his foster brothers at night and is always there to greet you in the morning. He is currently in foster care with 4 other dogs (small and large) and gets along well with all of them. Snow adapts well so would be suited to various lifestyles. He is a fantastic little guard dog and will let you know well in advance if something’s not right. He only barks when there is reason for it. Dog rescue newcastle www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation. Our adoption fee ($450) covers the dog's desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. Snow is in foster care in the glendale, nsw area, and is available for adoption interstate. For more information please contact his foster carer melissa

If you see a dog on our website then ither ring or email the contact person listed on the pet's description (contact us if you can't reach them). The pet's foster carer can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID to prove you live there.
If both sides agree, then you can adopt your new family member! When you pick up your new pet, you will be asked to:
- sign 2 copies of our Adoption Agreement
- sign a NSW Companion Animals Register-Change of Owner/Details form, and
- pay the Adoption Fee (cash, bank cheque, postal order, or direct debit)
The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. If, at the end of the trial period, you are happy to adopt the pet, and we are happy to allow it, then we complete the change of ownership paperwork and register it at council making the pet yours.
About a week or two later you will receive the ownership documentation in the mail, along with your new pet's vaccination and desexing certificates. If you decide to return the animal within the trial period we will refund your Adoption Fee less a $50 admin fee.
This is just a guide. Special arrangements and variations to the procedure are made when you live outside the Newcastle/Lake Macquarie area. Most of our pets are available for interstate adoption. Please contact us about this procedure.
