About Spritely ~~ only $250 ~~ (On Trial 11/10/12)
Spritely is roughly 6 years old, male, black Labrador x kelpie. He is very affectionate and great with other dogs and children. I have introduced him to a cat and he wasn't interested and did not react badly even when the cat hissed at him. He is excellent on the lead and rarely tug unless something is exciting him. He is also great off lead and will walk by your side with the occasional run but always returns to your side. He has basic training and responds to his name.
Spritely needs regular exercise with some freedom to socialise as he is new to the concept but is handling it well. He is great in the car, he sits or lays down and doesn't fly out as soon as you open the door; he waits patiently for you to take his lead. Spritely is a loving boy who just wants attention and company. He sleeps inside the laundry at night with access to outside for the toilet, but will be suitable to a kennel or a warm sheltered area.
Spritle would be suitable with a doggy companion or a person who is very involved with him. Spritely even though doesn't jump on humans. He can jump high so he will need at least 6ft fences. He is fine with all food, treats and bones and has not shown any aggression towards us or my other dogs whilst he is eating. He has shown us some fear and does retreat when he thinks he is in trouble, but with some reassuring he is slowly getting more confident. Spritely is a great boy and would make a great friend.
Spritely is in foster care in the Warners, NSW (Lake Macquarie/Newcastle area) and is available for adoption interstate. For more information or to meet him please phone foster carer Amy on 0411 426 107 or 02 4947 4540.
Dog Rescue Newcastle www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation. Spritely's special $250 adoption fee covers his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. Your support allows us to continue saving other homeless dogs.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
