About Bill (On Trial 13/10/12)
We’re proud to introduce Bill, a true gentleman and all round good bloke! He’s a Ridgeback x German Shepherd cross around 8 years old. He’s a big boy, but he’s quite calm and dignified in his manner, so that even when he’s in the house his size never seems to be intrusive.
Bill’s a guy that doesn’t seem to have had much love or fun in life, and he seems to expect only more of the same. He has an extremely expressive face which quite often looks sorrowful, frequently frowns, but lights up at the start of a game with one of the other dogs.
Before Bill came to Dog Rescue Newcastle he had two homes that we know of, through no fault of his own. He was not in good condition when we took him in, and seemed to feel sad and hopeless. But things are looking up for him now – he’s in good condition, the vet says he’s in good health, and we’ve told him a loving new family is about to give him a call. What more could the big guy want!
Bill has been to obedience classes and is well behaved. He is happy just to please you, and doesn’t want to run off to pursue his own agenda. He travels well in the car, and walks well on lead, but is a very powerful boy. He is good with other dogs, big and small, and with children. He likes to come inside, but is happy to sit outside in the sun during the day.
Bill needs to be placed with a family who would walk him frequently, involve him in their activities, and give him all the love that has been in short supply during his early years. If this could be you, Bill would love to meet you!
Bill is in foster care Port Stephens, NSW (a bit north of Newcastle), and is available for adoption interstate. For more information or to meet her please contact Lynda on 02 4987 1213 or email dogshouse@tpg.com.au
Dog Rescue Newcastle www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation. Bill's special discounted Seniors adoption fee of only $200 covers his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. Your support allows us to continue saving homeless dogs.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
