About Ringo
This is 6 year old Ringo who we rescued from Hawkesbury Pound. At his age he had probably raced successfully and then got too old to be fast enough so was thrown away.
Ringo is in a foster home in Sydney with 2 other dogs one medium and one small.
“Ringo is a star! Ringo’s heart is too big for his sleeve, so it’s on his side instead. At 6 years old Ringo still plays like a puppy, and loves to play in the park with his foster mum. He loves to frolic and his joy is certainly infectious, causing belly laughs from everyone who watches his zest for life! Like all greys he is a total lounge lizard, and especially loves cuddling up to humans and other dogs on the couch. He does need to get out each day, for one big play or a couple of shorter walks. When there is no-one else at the fenced dog park Ringo’s absolute favourite game is chasing the ball, preferably 3 to 4 throws, before flopping on the ground exhausted!
Ringo also loves toys, very much! He has a basket of toys to choose from, and seemed to know straight that these are his toys because he has never played with things that don’t belong to him. When visitors come to the door Ringo will go to his toy basket and search for a specific toys, before running to greet the guest, proudly showing them his toy. What a greyt way to make people feel comfortable with a large dog!
Ringo is currently undertaking his 6 weeks of greenhound training. If he passes he will be allowed to walk on leash without his muzzle. His foster mum is very confident that he will have no problems at all with this test as he has become very sociable and friendly with all the little dogs at the park, and has no problem sharing his food with humans and animals alike.
One of Ringos biggest fans is a 17 month old human, who squeals with delight when Ringo comes to her for pats and kisses. He is also very accepting of older children, and has had his whole body poked and prodded by curious kids.
Ringo would be best suited to a home where someone is around more often than not, and would love to live with another dog again. Ringo is not cat friendly.
The only thing stopping Ringo from staying with his foster family is that they already have two dogs. He is very much loved and will contribute so much love, joy and companionship to the lucky human who decides to share their life with such a big-hearted greyhound.”

Adoption details
Application form. House check. Two week trial period. We expect greyhounds to be 'indoor dogs' and not left alone for long periods of time. Ideally they would have a doggy or human friend for company most of the time.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
