About Bonza
Bonza is exactly what his name suggests, a real "bonza" puppy! he is sensitive but confident with other dogs, cats and new situations. He isn’t confident with strangers and needs an owner who will treat him with a calm, kind but assertive attitude. He was terrified of people when he came to homeless hounds and we feel that because of this he is best suited to a home without children (although he has never shown aggression of any kind), and where he will be shown that most people aren't out to be mean to puppies. He gains confidence from other dogs and so he will need to go to a home where there is also a calm, confident, friendly dog to learn from. Bonza is gentle in his play and he is not an "ankle biter". He learns quickly and loves walks and has learnt to "heel" very well. He doesn't run away and his recall is very good. However, being a young puppy obedience training is a must, as he will be a large dog, who needs to know his manners. Bonza is an independent boy, who is happy to sleep on his own bed or to run around on his own playing with his toys. When not playing or catching up on his rest, he loves to put his head on your knee, look up at you with his gorgeous brown eyes, pleading for an extra pat or cuddle
Bonza has been living with two cats and he is totally happy to share his living space with them.

Bonza has been desexed, vaccinated and microchipped, he is also up to date with flea and worm control
Adoption details
Once the animal is advertised candidates for adoption are requested to fill in a form.
The adoption questionnaire form asks where the animal will sleep, details of people and other animals in the home, training and exercise plans etc. We use this form as part of our screening process.
If we like what we read and the animal’s individual needs are met we then conduct an informal phone interview.
Then the potential adopter meets the animal at the carers home or the carer may choose to take the animal to the adopter’s home to do a house and yard inspection.
If the adopter meets the animal at the carer’s home a house/yard inspection is done after the meet.
When the yard inspection is done we are able to further evaluate the suitability of the candidate to adopt.
If we are satisfied that the animals needs will be met by the adopter and that they are a good match for one another then a trial period may begin.
We have legally binding pre-adoption forms which allow us to remove the animal from the home if all other solutions to issues have failed.
We have a good support base which adopters can utilise if needed, such as a professional trainer, a behaviourist, vets and a groomer.
Homeless Hounds offers support to our adopters for the life of the animal. It is policy that each adopter is aware that if the ever need help or to rehome the animal then HH wants to facilitate that.
Our procedures are based on advice from "model" and well established rescue groups and trial and error.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
