About Lorienne
Lorienne (gender unknown) was found as a stray and taken to the pound. Sadly none of the other parrot rescues would take her due to a suspected feather disease, so she is in quarantine until we can find out more. Lori has obviously been someone's pet and does not know how to survive in the wild. She repeatedly says "hello" to anyone nearby, and apparently some rude words were also said while at the pound. . . Although we haven't heard those yet. More information will come as we get to know her. We are currently only taking expressions of interest, as we still hope for the possibility of reuniting her with an owner. Her feather condition also needs further investigation. Update: after seeing some of the best bird vets in australia, lori has been cleared of any disease! we're all thrilled at the rescue, and thanks go to the many people involved with getting her out of the pound, transported, examined, etc. It's good to get some news in rescue that is not depressing. So. . . Why are lori's feathers in such a bad way? she's been plucking them, and she's all set for recovery. Bad habits die hard, but not knowing her previous life we do not know how boring it may have been, or a number of other factors that could have contributed to this problem. Needless to say, lori is looking for a home where she can be out of her cage and interacting with people. Stimulated, environmental enrichment, good diet, etc are all important factors for her recovery. If you'd like to adopt lori, please fill in an adoption form on our website: www. Porschesrescue. Com
