On Hold
About Moe (On Temp Hold while getting training)
Moe is a border collie x standard fox terrier, around 1 yr old. He could be a star in agility, competitive obedience, tracking, anything involving activity and a good mind. He is also very funny! he has the long nose and smooth coat of the standard fox terrier, the border collie colouring, and he’s smart, smart, smart! he sees everything in life as a bit of a lark; very little fazes or fools him. He’s mischievous, playful, confident, and very athletic. He needs to find a home where he has an active life in both body and mind, and an owner who knows how to be the leader, and how to help him reach his potential. I can envisage him doing very well in competition obedience, or agility.
Moe does not get on well with cats and will stalk and chase them. Moe is also really good at jumping fences - so far up to 1500 cm (or 5 ft). This is usually for a reason - such as chasing cats, or wanting to play with a dog in the next yard at his foster carer’s home. He doesn’t want to run away, but if he was left alone and bored he will go exploring, so good fences are a must.
Moe gets on well with other dogs, but he believes he is the boss, and it takes a big and powerful dog to change his mind. He guards his food, likes to take bones off the other dogs and eat them himself, but doesn’t like it at all if another dog tries the same with him.
Moe is very affectionate and loves to be cuddled and have his tummy rubbed, or to curl up next to you on the couch. He likes to chase balls or some sort of toy. He travels well in the car, is house trained, and sleeps inside at night.
Moe is a wonderful dog of great potential, who really is not suited to being just a pet in the backyard. Certainly he is a great family dog, but in a household where he is fully involved with his family in all their activities, and where he has opportunity to be active and challenged. If you’re looking for a dog like this, moe is ready and waiting for you to call. . .
Moe is in foster care near Raymond Terrace, NSW (30 minutes north of newcastle). For more info please phone Lynda after 6pm monday to thursday, or any time friday to sunday 02 4987 1213, or email dogshouse@tpg.com.au
Moe's $400 adoption fee covers his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile. They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID to prove you live there.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
