Ella (On Trial)

Ella is a gorgeous 17 week old red cattle dog x jack russell, an absolute sweetheart, with those big dark puppy dog eyes that just suck you in. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her eyes. Ella is fantastic with kids and dogs of all sizes, she loves to play and run amuck. Ella loves to have companions with her, canine or human, and likes to cuddle with you on the couch, or play in the yard. Ella had never been on a lead before coming into care just over a week ago, so she requires a gentle touch, patience and plenty of positive reinforcement to get her up and walking, but once you have overcome her initial timidity of the lead, she is great and will happily walk with you. She is starting to understand that the lead is a good thing when she sees it. . . Ella loves meeting new people and is extremely well behaved in public. She is extremely tolerant of all other animals. She is learning basic training and is doing rather well, she is learning to sit and wait for her meals. . . Ella had never been inside before coming into care, and is learning indoor manners and getting better with her house training. She is quite happy outside during the day, but likes to come in to visit through =out the day, and to come in to sleep at night. Ella would love a doggy door, she is fantastic at letting herself out when she needs to go out, and likes to be able to venture in and out freely. . . Ella does get car sick, something i am working on with her, as i believe it is more her lack of previous car trips or fear related, so it is best not to feed her right before putting her in the car, just in case. But she does travels well in the car and sits on her own seat or the floor quite happily. . . As ella is still a puppy, she has lots to learn and is proving to be rather intelligent and willing to learn new things. I have found the best method for ella is food related rewards at the moment, liver treats are her favourite!
