Vispo (On Trial in My New Home)

vispo is a beautiful cattle dog mix with a frisky personality to match his name (?vispo? is frisky in italian). He is on the smaller side of these dogs, but can jump and leap long and high. He loves to sit under your chair or side table if he cannot be on your lap or next to it. He is quite enamoured of our cat, and will push all the way to touching her with his nose, but so far has been responsive to our cat's defensive behaviours. Vispo is very cattle dogg-y: he loves to wander out to the yard in the middle of the night (we've never had a dog do this) and he can occupy himself this way for a while. When he is finished, though, he needs to be back with his dog or human pack. Because of his ability to escape yards and the breed traits of a cattle dog, vispo needs another dog in his pack to help him remember the benefits and boundaries of his home. We have not had vispo near children, but expect he would be great with them. All children should be taught safety basics about interacting with dogs, reading their body language, and using extra caution around food, bones, toys, and other dogs while playing. Vispo wants to earn his keep and feels like he's a part of the action. He is smart enough to understand if you include him in your plans. Vispo comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and ready to go to his new home now!
